GEORGETOWN, Del. (AP) — A 22-year-old previous baseball player at the University of Delaware has been arrested after a woman noted that he sexually assaulted her.
Delaware Condition Police announced Friday afternoon that Clay Conaway of Georgetown had been taken into custody earlier in the week. He was indicted on a cost of initial-diploma rape.
The university’s director of exterior relations, Andrea Boyle Tippett, verified Saturday that Conaway had been a member of the baseball team but was no for a longer time. She declined additional remark, apart from expressing he was no for a longer time on campus.
Police say Conaway has been arraigned and fully commited to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $70,000 secured bond. It wasn’t promptly distinct if he had an legal professional who could remark on his behalf.
