MANKATO — A standout Minnesota State University football player is accused of exposing himself to a woman he did not know.

Dodge

Zachary Edward Dodge, 22, of Mankato, was charged with misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure and disorderly conduct Monday in Blue Earth County District Court.

A woman who lives on Cottage Path reported she responded to a knock on her door early Sunday morning. When she opened the door, a man she didn’t know was standing there with his pants down, according to Mankato police.

After the woman slammed the door and police were called, Dodge was located in the area and the woman identified him.

Dodge is a senior defensive tackle on the Minnesota State football team and was named the preseason defensive player of the year by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference coaches.

Mavericks coach Todd Hoffner and athletic director Kevin Buisman said they could not comment on Dodge’s arrest.

Minnesota State plays at Winona State at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22.
