A 27-year-old man has been charged with murder within the demise of “Last Chance U” star John Beam … officers introduced Monday.
According to court docs, Cedric Irving Jr. admitted to taking pictures Beam at Laney College in Oakland on Thursday … and had the handgun used within the disgusting act in his possession on the time of his arrest on the San Leandro BART station at 3 AM the following morning.
Beam was shot within the head and rushed to a close-by hospital … however tragically, he died from the accidents he sustained.
At a press convention, Alameda County DA Ursula Jones Dickson stated Irving is going through 50 years to life if convicted.
Jones Dickson added Irving — who’s being held with out bail — didn’t have a criminal report.
It’s unclear if there’s a connection to Irving and Beam … however officers stated final week the alleged shooter went to the Laney campus for a “specific reason” and the assault was “very targeted.”
Beam was a staple within the Bay Area … and devoted his life to serving to the youth via sports activities.
He coached a handful of gamers who went on to go well with up within the NFL.
