Hollywood and the world are reeling after the stunning deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner, and now a few of their closest buddies — Billy Crystal, Larry David, Martin Short, Albert Brooks, and extra — are honoring the couple in an emotional private joint assertion.
The comedy icons, who shared many years of friendship and artistic historical past with the Reiner’s, spoke to The Associated Press, praising Rob’s extraordinary profession and the creative lineage he carried ahead.
“Absorbing all he had learned from his father Carl and his mentor Norman Lear, Rob Reiner not only was a great comic actor, he became a master story teller. There is no other director who has his range. From comedy to drama to ‘mockumentary’ to documentary he was always at the top of his game. He charmed audiences. They trusted him. They lined up to see his films,” the group stated of their assertion.
They went on to spotlight his work as a filmmaker, noting the distinctive fingerprint he delivered to initiatives starting from “A Few Good Men” to “When Harry Met Sally” to “The Princess Bride.”
“His comedic touch was beyond compare, his love of getting the music of the dialogue just right, and his sharpening of the edge of a drama was simply elegant,” the assertion stated.

We broke the story … Rob and Michele had been discovered useless of their Brentwood house Sunday. Nick was charged Tuesday with two counts of first-degree murder within the deaths of his well-known mother and father. Nick faces the opportunity of life in prison with out parole or the demise penalty if convicted on all counts.
The comedy legends say the couple’s influence — on movie, tradition, and on those that beloved them will likely be felt eternally. “They lined up to see his films…” their assertion reads. “He was always at the top of his game.”

As we have reported … Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman says Nick faces the opportunity of life in prison with out parole … or the demise penalty … if convicted on all counts.
Nick’s being held with out bail and is on suicide watch … and he is employed powerhouse protection legal professional Alan Jackson. Nick was scheduled to be in court Tuesday, however he could not get medical clearance in time.
