A Baltimore Police Department officer has been charged with tried murder after prosecutors say he tried to run over a person together with his car whereas on obligation … and the incident was caught on video.
Robert A. Parks turned himself in Wednesday morning … and he is been charged with second-degree tried murder, assault, reckless driving, and misconduct in workplace.
In the video recorded by a bystander, Officer Parks is having a dialogue with a person on the road who begins to stroll away from him down an alleyway … and Parks then jumps in his police SUV and speeds off after him.
The man runs right into a grassy space off the alleyway … the place Parks follows him — showing to clip him with the car within the course of. The man Parks is chasing begins sprinting down the road, and the SUV drives up on the sidewalk after him.
Ultimately, Parks stops his automobile and hops out to seize the man and the video cuts off.
According to Baltimore’s WBFF-TV, prosecutors declare Parks advised a gaggle of fellows “to take a lap” — mainly to cease loitering in an space — which they then did. Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley mentioned, “What is seen in this video is not only disturbing, but alarming. This is not how we expect our officers to behave, and this incident does not reflect the values or standards of the Baltimore Police Department.”
