A former Premier League player has been charged with bribery for an attempt to fix of matches in Sweden.
Dickson Etuhu, the former Nigeria midfielder who played for Manchester City, Sunderland and Fulham, and now works as a soccer agent, has been charged after an 18-thirty day period investigation. The investigation revealed last year that he was at the center of the investigation by Swedish law enforcement targeted organized crime.
Etuhu, 36, is accused of featuring a bribe to AIK Stockholm’s Kenny Stamatopoulos, his former teammate, to take care of a match against Gothenburg last yr. The match was canceled soon after the Swedish authorities have been informed of allegations against Etuhu.
